Batesville Southside Public Water Authority Water Treatment Plant, Batesville, Arkansas

Robinson Construction was selected to construct a new water treatment plant near the bank of the White River in Batesville, Arkansas. The plant was constructed to provide customers of the Southside Public Water Authority with an additional treatment capacity of 3 MGD. The water treatment plant consisted of construction of a 490,000 gallon below grade concrete clearwell supported by 185 - 43 ft long H-Piles, a 7176 sq ft masonry block/structural steel building, a ballasted flocculation water treatment system with filters, one 8-in. 800 gpm and two 10-in. 1600 gpm vertical turbine high service pumps, one 16-in. 4000 gpm vertical turbine filter backwash pump, the piping systems, the chemical feed systems, and a 450 kW diesel generator. The project also included a backwash pond with a concrete overflow structure, an intake control building, piping, electrical and instrumentation systems, all site work, fences, roads, and an asphalt driveway and parking lot. In addition to the water treatment plant, the contract also called for construction of a new 6 MGD raw water intake structure and an interconnecting raw water line.
