The Robinson Construction Charitable Fund recently issued grants totaling $21,750 to three organizations that provide support to veterans and active military members. Wake Foundation, Fly Me Home, and Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial each received a grant for $7,250. The grant funds were raised at the 2021 Robinson Construction benefit golf tournament, Chip in for Charity. The idea behind Chip in for Charity is to raise money and awareness for groups and charities that are near and dear to Robinson Construction and our community. According to Paul Findlay, president of Robinson Construction, “We are especially grateful for the continued generosity of our customers and trade and business partners. It is because of them that we were able to make this third tournament the most successful yet.” Mark your calendars for the next Chip in for Charity tournament on Monday, September 26, 2022.

Robinson Construction Company today announced work on the Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial project in Perryville, Missouri has earned the company a national Excellence in Construction® Eagle Award, which will be presented during ABC Convention 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee, on Aug. 18. The EIC awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects.

Frank Robinson, CEO of Robinson Construction, was honored to be involved in this project. “The nature of this project allowed for the owner, contractor, craftsmen, and community to collaborate effectively and pay respect to our nation’s veterans.”

The project included erection of a full-sized replica of the D.C. Vietnam Wall (the granite panels came from the same quarry in Bangalore, India as the original Vietnam Veterans Memorial), construction of a welcome center, military museum, pavilion, and an honor flag memorial.

“The craftmanship of Robinson Construction Company and their hardworking employees continues to raise the bar when it comes to how we define excellence in construction,” said 2020 ABC National Chair Tim Keating, owner and president of R.C. Stevens Construction Co., Winter Garden, Florida. “It’s an honor to recognize these award winners for their respective commitments to building safely, on time and on budget, as well as contribute to the communities in which they work.”

The EIC award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

This year's panel included representatives from Building Owners and Managers Association International, Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America and various construction-related firms nationwide.

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is the presenting sponsor of the Excellence in Construction® Awards.
