The Robinson Construction Charitable Fund recently issued grants totaling just over $15,000 to three area organizations. Lucas & Friends Backyard Adventures Playground, Safe Families for Children-Southeast Missouri, and Dream Factory of Southeast Missouri each received a grant for just over $5,000. The grant funds were raised at the 2020 Robinson Construction benefit golf tournament, Chip in for Charity. The idea behind Chip in for Charity is to raise money and awareness for groups and charities that are near and dear to Robinson Construction and our community. According to Paul Findlay, president of Robinson Construction, “We are especially grateful for the generosity of our customers and trade and business partners. It is because of them that we were able to make this second tournament such a great success in such a challenging year.” Mark your calendars for the next Chip in for Charity tournament on Monday, September 27, 2021.

Ernie Chavarria has joined Robinson Construction as a project superintendent. In this role, Ernie is responsible for directing and coordinating all jobsite activities on assigned projects. Ernie is from Stillwater, Oklahoma and has more than 20 years’ experience in civil, petrochemical, and energy construction projects. Prior to joining Robinson Construction, Ernie worked as a civil foreman for Zachry Construction Corporation.

Chris Layton has joined Robinson Construction as an Estimator. In this role, Chris is responsible for preparing the cost estimates and completing the bidding documents for projects that Robinson pursues. Chris is from Perryville, MO and has nearly 30 years’ experience in estimating and design of construction projects in the roadway and heavy civil sectors. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Missouri. Prior to joining Robinson Construction, Chris worked as an engineer for Traylor Brothers Construction.

Connie Mahathath, workforce coordinator for Robinson Construction, has completed all requirements for the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) credential. To become certified, Connie had to meet strict professional experience and educational requirements and pass an examination demonstrating her dedication, credibility, and mastery of the principles of human resources.

The SPHR demonstrates mastery of the strategic and policy-making aspects of HR management as practiced in the U.S. The credential is designed for big-picture thinkers responsible for planning rather than implementing HR policy. SPHR professionals are recognized for their proven accountability for HR department goals, breadth and depth of knowledge in all HR disciplines, and understanding business issues beyond the HR function.

Robinson Construction Company is pleased to announce the recent addition of new employee at their main office in Perryville, Missouri.

Alfred Laird has joined Robinson Construction as a Senior Estimator. In this role, Alfred is responsible for preparing the cost estimates and completing the bidding documents for projects that Robinson pursues. Alfred is from Jackson, Mississippi and has nearly 16 years’ experience in estimating projects in the heavy industrial, process, manufacturing, healthcare, private higher education, and commercial sectors. Prior to joining Robinson Construction, Alfred worked as Director of Industrial Estimating for Roy Anderson Corporation.

Meet Paul Findlay, Robinson’s current director of preconstruction. Paul has been with Robinson for more than 20 years working in various roles throughout the company. Paul and his family are actively involved in an organization called Safe Families for Children, Southeast Missouri Safe Families for Children, Southeast Missouri. Safe Families for Children is one of three organizations that will receive support from Robinson’s Annual Robinson Construction - Chip in for Charity Golf Tournament this year.

At Robinson Construction, the safety of our employees, their families and the communities in which we operate is our greatest priority. With the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic and like so many other organizations around the world, we are following the recommendations of the CDC, local and national health organizations, and our own Safety Department to minimize risk and support the health of our employees on our jobsites and in our offices.

As construction is considered an “essential business,” many of our projects continue to operate, and while every day brings new challenges to each of our jobsites, we are maintaining our commitment to making our clients successful even during these most extraordinary times. Our dedicated employees – whether in the office or on our jobsites – are working hard to continue to support our country’s critical businesses.

As a result, we have taken safety precautions such as implementing work-from-home measures where possible, restricting nonessential business travel, implementing more stringent personal hygiene and in-office cleaning practices, eliminating nonessential visitors, among others. On all jobsites we are taking preventative hygiene measures and placing specific emphasis on social distancing while working. Additionally, we have reduced workforce where necessary to decrease the risk of exposure to our field staff and the employees of our customers.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will make our decisions based on the guidelines and mandates from the CDC, state and local governments where we work, and what we feel is best for our employees, business partners, and customers.

Robinson Construction was recently able to donate $17,560 to Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial from the proceeds of our inaugural benefit golf tournament, Chip in for Charity. The idea behind Chip in for Charity is to raise money and awareness for groups and charities that are near and dear to Robinson Construction and our community. Thanks in large part to the generosity of our customers and trade and business partners, we were able to make this first tournament at great success! Greg Husmann has joined Robinson Construction as a project manager. In this role, Greg is responsible for overall management and administration of assigned projects, from budget and scheduling, to production and completion. Greg graduated from the University of Missouri – Rolla with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He has over 27 years of project management experience and 5 years of senior estimating experience. Greg is excited to work with a Missouri based company again and have the opportunity to lead construction projects for Robinson Construction.

Melissa Latoz has joined Robinson Construction as the Training and Development Coordinator. In this role, Melissa is responsible for all training event coordination, as well as maintaining the learning management system in addition to overseeing the Supervisor and Field Engineer training programs. Melissa lives in Southern Illinois and has nearly 8 years’ experience in the training and development field. Prior to joining Robinson Construction, Melissa worked as Training Manager for Personal Finance Company.

Angela Swan has joined Robinson Construction as Executive Assistant. Angela is responsible for assisting the CEO with outside boards and civic responsibilities, performing office management duties, and creating training curriculum and videos for the learning management system. Angela is originally from Perryville, Missouri, and has a B.A. in Economics from Westminster College in Fulton, MO. Prior to joining Robinson Construction, she lived in upstate New York where she was Executive Assistant for the Adirondack/Champlain Valley Boards of REALTORs and statewide coordinator for New York State’s Maple Weekend.

Dylan Green has joined Robinson Construction as an IT Technical Support Specialist. In this role, Dylan is responsible for providing technical support to all office and field personnel. Dylan is from Chester, Illinois and over 5 years of experience with technical support and networking. He earned his A.S. in Information Technology from Ranken Technical Institute here in Perryville, Missouri.
